Answered prayers

The other day someone asked when we started the adoption process. I forgot that we first began to seriously talk/pray about adopting about a year ago. We prayed while B was in Iraq, looking at adoption agencies online while we were separated by thousands of miles. When he returned, we got down to serious looking/praying together and were led to Buckner Adoption agency in Dallas. We went to an orientation meeting in November after filling out a questionnaire. After more prayer, we really felt that Buckner was the agency that the Lord would use in this process, mainly because they care so well for birthfamilies, are very professional and seek God's will about each family and baby.

We are going to have an open adoption - which is something we are still learning about. We will keep in contact with the birthmother/family of our baby. This will be something we will definitely learn about as we go.

We have been feverishly filling out paperwork - from the personal to the even more personal. Thankfully, we have turned it all in within 3 months from officially starting our process. We have a required seminar in March which turns out is the same week as spring break. The God-thing/answered prayer is that we will be able to interview with our social worker the day before attending the seminar in the same city together! I forget how much I try to control things, not trusting that God is in control of this process. I know it is such a cliche but it is true.
Anyway - praise the Lord! He is so good.
